3 Hurt in Phoenix Rollover Accident

It is important for a Phoenix rollover accident lawyer to know what factors lead to rollover car accidents. If impairment is the cause of a rollover accident, the at-fault party will likely be prosecuted.

In recent news, three men were injured in a Phoenix rollover accident where Police suspect alcohol is involved. As reported by ABC 15, the crash happened on Interstate 10 near 43rd Avenue when a Jeep carrying two people hit another vehicle from behind. The impact caused the Jeep to rollover.

Both passengers of the Jeep were reportedly not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash; one of them was thrown from the vehicle. Another person inside the second vehicle was hurt in the incident. They were brought to local hospitals for treatment. A spokesman for the Department of Public Safety confirmed one of the victims was in critical condition but is expected to recover. Investigators found beer cans inside the Jeep.

What May Have Caused this Injury Rollover Accident?

Rollover accidents have a high fatality rate and usually involve travelling at excessive speeds. With officers finding beer cans inside the Jeep, it is likely that the driver was impaired, causing him to crash into the other vehicle. Impairment, as most of us know, is a major factor in fatal car accidents in the U.S. Further, driving under the influence may entitle the injured party to a punitive damage claim, which may result in additional money for an injury claim.

Hit-And-Run Driver Collides with 3 Vehicles in Glendale

Hit-and-runs can happen at anytime especially on freeways. According to a Crash Facts Summary for Arizona in 2009, multi-vehicle crashes amounted to a surprising number of 87,651. Collisions with motor vehicles causing property damage accounted for 55,070 out of a total of 79,419. Glendale alone had 4,479 crashes, and 3,182 that lead to property damage.

According to AZFamily, a hit-and-run driver was accused of ramming into not just one, but three motor vehicles along Glendale Avenue, Friday morning. It was a terrifying moment for the drivers involved. The suspect hit his first victim at around 11 a.m. when his red SUV sideswiped a pick-up truck, then hit a tan sedan and then finally slammed into the back of a Porsche. The impact of the hit was so intense that the Porsche spun over the curb and up into a concrete wall just outside of a Wells Fargo bank in Glendale. The SUV driver still went on until it came to a stop on 13th street. No one was injured in those series of accidents. The suspect reportedly attempted to flee from the scene but was held to the ground by one of his victims until the Phoenix police arrived. Witnesses say that the driver was intoxicated.

Intoxication while behind the wheel is a heavy offense against the law. In this case, it is triple the penalty since aside from the intoxication, three consecutive motor vehicles were hit. It’s a good thing that no one got hurt.

Rollover Crash Backs Up Traffic on Loop 101 in Peoria

A rollover is a highly fatal accident which usually involves travelling at a high speed. Though any type of vehicle can possibly end up in a rollover crash, physical attributes of certain vehicles make them more susceptible to rolling over.

According to Safercar.gov, taller and narrower vehicles which “have higher centers of gravity” are more prone to roll over crashes. These include light trucks such as pickups and SUVs.

In recent news, a Peoria auto accident occurred after an SUV lost control and rolled over on the Loop 101 Tuesday (September 13, 2011) according to AZ Central. The single-vehicle crash which happened around 6:30 a.m. backed up traffic for some time until the wreck was cleared and the vehicle was moved off the side of the road.

No one was reportedly hurt in the crash. Police are still looking for factors which may have led to the rollover.

To prevent rollover accidents (or any other types of car accidents), drivers are advised to avoid traveling at excessive speeds which may cause panic steering and loss of control. Also, do not over steer when approaching curves and most importantly, avoid alcohol completely when driving. Make sure to always put safety first when on the road.

SUV with 25 People Chased Down in Pinal County

Speeding is a risky action to take because it could cause accidents, especially if the driver will not be able to step on the brake in time, and a pedestrian or another car suddenly passes onto its front. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, one of the prevalent factors contributing to motor vehicle accidents is speeding. In 2009, 31% of all traffic crashes had speeding as a contributing factor.

As soon as the SUV got stuck in a river bottom, the passengers immediately got out and fled into the desert.
