Five-Vehicle Mesa Car Crash Injures At Least Four People

Fatigue results in many car accidents in Arizona, and a driver who fell asleep at the wheel caused a serious five-car pileup on Wednesday, August 29, 2012, according to news reports from ABC 15 News. The Mesa traffic crash happened shortly before 11 p.m. when an elderly driver crossed into the oncoming lanes of traffic at McKellips Road and Lindsay Road and struck another vehicle. The impact forced that vehicle into two others while the first driver proceeded to hit a fifth vehicle. The drifting driver and his passenger, along with two of the other drivers, were injured, and all four were transported to the hospital. Reports from police indicate that the driver was not impaired at the time of the accident. Our best wishes for a quick recovery go out to everyone involved.
